Week 40: Fail extensively

And then keep moving forward

Progress isn’t linear. Everybody makes mistakes and failing isn’t something that means you should stop what you’re doing, it’s simply an opportunity to learn and grow and develop as you continue to move forward

As so many people fail to the right things (especially in this industry, or amongst those who care about social justice, sustainability etc), it can be easy to hold yourself to an incredibly high standard comparatively, one that is almost unattainable at times.

Even if sometimes you fail to meet that standard, as long as you learn and grow and continue to progress, you are still a good person trying to do the right thing and that is still something worth celebrating.

Take others' thoughts, opinions and criticisms on board and use them as learning opportunity. Doing the right thing is always a constant goal that you will always have to work towards, not a specific end goal that you can just reach and then you’ve succeeded.

What can you try doing this week? Try it. You might fail, but that’s okay.

Be sure to keep moving forward - this is where your community, peer support and knowledge is so important to support you in the harder times.
